Belfast
After a weekend in Glasgow, we packed our bags and flew to Ireland on Tuesday to start our social placement.
We are having a good time and we have seen some fantastic social centres, and met some great people.
We have been based at a Family Centre but we have also had opportunity to visit a men's hostel and an old peoples home. It has been a great opportunity and we have learnt so much already and we have only been here 3 days!
There is too much to write about so we will tell you all about it when we see you next.
Please pray for Social Centres within the Army. They are doing a great job of meeting peoples needs and peoples lives are being changed!
We fly back to college on Monday, and we will be busy, busy, busy as we have an assignment to be handed in every week until Christmas!!
All work & not much play!

The CONGRESS!
One of our biggest highlights of college so far is that we had to go to the congress last weekend!!!!!
We had to be up for 6am to leave for the airport for 7am! Not good on a Saturday morning!
We returned home on Sunday evening and got back to college at midnight.
Long weekend, lots of laughs and was lovely to see my mum and dad, however it would be closer to meet in Essex!

HALF TERM - The Hills are alive...
Half Term week saw lots of visitors. It was great to see some lovely friends and family!. It made us miss you all the more.
Unfortunately we still had lectures (well we did have 3 days study, but we actually did have work to do!)
sorry for those who came to stay and we didn't spend that much time with you, but it does show that at college we do work and its not all play!!!
It was great to see some of our friends - Karl had a great time playing with Jacob! Can't believe how much Sophie & Noah have grown!!!
Was lovely to see my sister & brother (and lee & Louise!) It was a good laugh. Our flat is a little on the small side, but we did manage to sleep everyone - not at the same time!!!
During this week we managed to get tickets to see the 'Sound of Music' It was great!! Even Karl enjoyed it!! And Connie Fisher was playing Maria! WE finished the day off with a nice meal (where we saw Ralph Little!!)
Another highlight of the week was having a picnic in Kensington Park with all the leaves falling off the trees - it was beautiful. It was very funny that Lee had sat in Bird poo! He had got it everywhere - how much were those wet wipes!!!
We miss all our friends and family &? love you very much!!! Thank you for being you. you are so special to us! xxxx

Celebrities!
Since we have been in London we have found a new game 'Spot the Celebrity!' So far we have seen
- Halle Berry
- Ralph Little
- Ziggy & Chanelle!!! (after queuing for 2 hours to watch Celeb Ready Steady Cook to be turned away!)
- Christian Slater
- Dick & Dom
- Shane Richie

But our highlight has to be going to watch 'PARKINSON!'
It is his last series, so was even more exciting!! The special guests were Sir Bobby Charlton, Joanna Lumly, and Father Christmas (otherwise known as Richard Attenborough!) We only had to wait for an hour (in the rain) but it was well worth it!!
Watch out for us on TV we could be on a screen near you very soon!! Well, we hope to get some more tickets to part of a studio audience!
As you can see we are making the most of living in London - we love it! Shame about the work!!

It's done!!
Sorry for the lack of posts!
Thankfully the assignment is all done and handed in!!
Had a very busy weekend. For those who don't know it was our official 'Welcome' to college. Family and friends came down to see us and cheer us on. It was lovely seeing everyone again and finding out what was going on back home. Thank you to all our families who travelled along way to come and see us, hope you enjoyed yourself!!
With the flat being so small it was very hard trying to accommodate everyone so we had to do it in shifts!! We only wish we had more time to spend with our families, so make sure you come back and see us soon!
For the second weekend in a row we visited Krispy Kreme - for those who don't know they are the best doughnuts ever!! The problem is they are moreish and it works out a lot cheaper if you buy 24. Don't worry we did share them with everyone!!
As for College...
Lectures have now started and the timetable is in full flow. We are not in any of the same lectures, which is a good thing, but Karl has been put in a class with one of his friends that likes to get him into trouble so I am not sure how long that will last!!
We are feeling settled but sometimes the whole thing is a little over whelming. We really miss everyone, and as the weeks go by it doesn't get any easier! But we are happy, and have made some really good friends.
Karl has not added anything to this post as he is STILL on the toilet - he says it's the change of water!! Kev - we are running out of toilet rolls, got any spare?!!!
Will post some photos in the next post to show you what we have been up to!
Take care & please keep in touch
Miss you loads!

Scary Day
Today we had our induction to the course which was quite scary for those like me not having done formal writings of any sort .........ever, im sure there are many others in the same boat. Today we also had interviews with various important people of the college which went well.
Afterwards we went to the Fox on the Hill as it was curry club night, (we missed the curry but went for a drink) it was a good time to get to meet a few of the families which we had not really met.
All in all a pretty good day. And to top it off we finally got a chest of draws for the bedroom - only a little thing to you, but a big thing for us!!
We finsh at 11.10am tomorrow morning - so off to the doctors to try and register!
Hope you are all ok - missing you lots.

Miss you all!
Tonight we had so many messages off our lovely friends saying how much they missed us and were thinking and praying for us! (Thanks for the photo!!)
We just wanted to let you know that we are missing you SO much. We really appreciate getting texts & cards off you all, it's nice to know we have not been forgotten!!
We have had a strange day today. We went into Camberwell to register at the doctors and go to the dentist. For those who have not heard i have had really bad tooth ache since we arrived and my face is swollen - great for making new friends!! Anyway its taken me all week to see a dentist & eventually today was the day!!
I have to say it was worth the wait, he was the loveliest dentist ever!! That was until he told me that i needed to go back for an hours appointment & charged me £15 to say 'I can't treat you today, you can't open your mouth wide enough (I know that's a first!!) so you will need some antibiotics.' £15 for that!! Anyway whilst i was seeing the dentist Karl was registering with the doctors. He had been in there an hour before I arrived to meet him and he still hadn't been seen, but he had chatted the receptionist up! He has a funny story to tell about peeing in a bottle, but I will leave that for him to tell you in person!!
After the eventful morning we headed back to college to get changed and head to THQ for IT training - what fun!! 4 hours later we were getting the train back home.
BIG DAY tomorrow as it's our official welcome. Basically our session starts tomorrow - so please pray for us.
For those who are worried about us we are settling in very well, and this week we have felt more at home & getting much more confident with living in London. I think we might even say we are enjoying ourselves - but the work hasn't started yet!!!
We best be off to go and iron our shirts!
love you lots xxx

We have arrived!
It seems to have taken us ages, but we are here! We have arrived at Denmark Hill.
After taking a few days to recover walking up the two flights of stairs about 200 times with boxes, we have unpacked and made our little flat look like home! (Thank you to both sets of parents for helping us out!!)
It is only small, but very homely!
London life is a little crazy - but I think we will get used to it soon enough. Karl said the other day that he felt like a little boy in a big city!!! It has taken a bit of getting used to not jumping in the car to get somewhere!! We have done a lot of walking and public transport is becoming a way of life!
We have met some lovely people so far, but still don't really know people if that makes any sense?! We are off to the pub tonight to get to know some people a little better.
Hopefully we will put some pics on here soon of our little home.
Remember to keep in touch! Missing you all!!!
